PROTECTIVE RHINOPLASTY IN TURKEY

Turkey Medicals LogoTurkey Medicals member VM Medical Park Istanbul Pendik Hospital Plastic Reconstructive and Aesthetic Surgery Assoc. Dr., “There are many methods applied in rhinoplasty. Protective rhinoplasty is one of these methods. This rhinoplasty method aims to correct deformities in the nose by maintaining the connection in the natural structure of the nose. For this purpose, problems such as bumps, arches, curvature are corrected without disconnecting the connective tissues in the nose.”

Today, it is a popular rhinoplasty method that provides the most natural-looking results in rhinoplasty, provides rapid recovery.

To whom can it be done?

It is suitable for anyone who is bothered by problems such as arch, bump, curvature in the nose and who has a faster healing process by maintaining the natural structure of the nose and has good general health.

What are the advantages?

It does not damage the natural structure of the nose, as it ensures the protection of the bonds between all the components in the nose. Another great advantage of protective rhinoplasty is that it provides very rapid healing. The patient can easily return to his/her work and social environment within a few days after the operation. Very minimal pain, edema and swelling are expected. There will not be any incision marks on the tip of the nose. After the operation, there will be no irregularities in the back of the nose, because the patient’s natural back of the nose is preserved. The tip of the nose retains its mobility, there are no problems such as a dull or petrified tip of the nose. Since the natural nasal connective tissues are protected, there is no fall at the tip of the nose.

Protective rhinoplasty has no known disadvantages compared to other surgical techniques. Just because it is a new method, the number of specialist surgeons is very small.

How is it applied?

Protective rhinoplasty surgery is performed under general anesthesia. The average operation time takes 2 hours. It is applied by a closed method in which incisions are opened from the inside of the nose, which prevents the formation of a visible incision at the tip of the nose. First, the cartilage is removed to correct the curved parts, if any, in the midline septum cartilage of the nose. It is used for various grafts for the correction of these cartilages. After that, the cartilage of the tip of the nose is delivered and brought to its natural shape, which should be. If there is a curvature or arch in the back of the nose, the cartilage tissues are removed by cutting, the back of the nose is straightened and the tip of the nose is positioned appropriately. The surgery is completed with splint/splint and protective tape.

And within a week, recovery is completed largely quickly. During the recovery process, it is necessary not to do heavy exercise for several weeks, not to consume alcohol and cigarettes for a week, not to be exposed to sunlight.
