Calcium phosphate, uric acid and cystine stones are less common kidney stones. Calcium oxalate stone is a more common kidney stone. If there is a calcium phosphate stone, proteins from animal foods such as meat, milk, eggs, yogurt should be reduced. If there is uric acid and cystine stone, salt should be reduced and the amount of water should be increased.
Calcium oxalate stones are a type of kidney stone that is both more common and has tricks that need more attention. People with calcium oxalate stones should consume less foods such as coffee, cola, chocolate, cocoa foods, nuts, buckwheat bread, beans, beets, spinach.
One of the most important factors in oxalate intake is the consumption of black tea. Turkish black tea is very rich in oxalate, so it affects directly.
Excessive consumption of Turkish coffee other than tea, insufficient consumption of water, excessive consumption of salt, excess intake of vegetables rich in oxalates, animal protein are factors that increase the risk.
Because vegetables also usually contain high oxalate, vegetables with as little oxalate as possible should be consumed. Dark green leafy green veg is too much oxalate. Vegetables such as spinach, purslane, beets, turnips, green beans okra fall into this class. Broccoli, mini cabbage and normal cabbage are low in amount.
As much as possible, vegetables should be boiled, cooked after straining the water, and calcium sources such as yogurt, cheese, milk should be present when consuming.
Red plum and Murdum plum have the property of making acid. In an acid environment, oxalate stones collapse much more easily.
Strawberries and kiwi are also fruits rich in oxalate. For this reason, fruits such as strawberries and Kiwis should be avoided.
Oil seeds such as nuts, peanuts, almonds are very rich in oxalate. Therefore, it should not be reduced or consumed.
Being at an Ideal weight is also very important for kidney health and for people with kidney stones. But rapid weight loss should also be avoided.
