ABOUT BICHECTOMY IN TURKEY

.
CHEEK AUGMENTATION ALSO KNOWN AS BUCCAL FAT PAD REMOVAL OR BUCCAL LIPECTOMY, IS A COSMETIC PROCEDURE AIMED AT ENHANCING THE APPEARANCE OF THE CHEEKS. THIS SURGERY INVOLVES THE REMOVAL OF FAT PADS IN THE CHEEKS TO CREATE A SLIMMER, MORE CONTOURED FACIAL STRUCTURE. BY REDUCING FULLNESS OF THE CHEEKS, CHEEK AUGMENTATION CAN HELP DEFINE THE CHEEKBONES AND ACHIEVE A MORE SCULPTED FACIAL APPEARANCE.
.

.
TYPES OF BICHECTOMY

There are 2 main ways to perform the cheek augmentation surgery in Turkey hospitals such as;

  • Cheek implant – a solid insert, for which is placed on top of the cheekbone or attached to it. The implant can be made of various substances and many shapes and sizes to fit different face structures. The main benefit of using a solid implant is because it can be removed easily in case of any problems. The implant used in cheek augmentation is generally made of solid silicone. Unlike silicone used in other surgeries, a silicone cheek implant is solid and cannot rupture or leak. Other material used as solid implants include polyethylene, expanded polytetrafluoroethylene (ePTFE) and acellular dermal matrix made from donated human skins or tissues. Incisions for the cheek implant will be made inside the mouth so there is no visible scarring, but if other surgeries are performed at the same time, then the incisions made for those may be used instead. The implant will be attached to the bones of the face using screws or sutures.
    .
  • Injectable fillers – there are several types of injectable fillers. One type of filler is fat taken from another part of the body called fat grafting or autologous fat transfer. The tissue can’t be rejected by the body because it’s the patients own tissue, but can be reabsorbed and the result could be impermanent. The fat is harvested with a syringe or during Liposuction. Fat cells are concentrated before it is injected. Another injectable filler is called collagen hydroxylapatite, hyaluronic acid and polymethyl methacrylate (PMMA). Collagen and hyaluronic acid are temporary fillers because the body eventually absorbs them so for lasting results the procedure has to be redone. Hydroxylapatite is longer lasting but can eventually be absorbed. PMMA injections are considered as permanent.

CHEEK AUGMENTATION PROCEDURE
.
For cheek augmentation by surgeon doctor in Turkey hospital usually takes under an hour to be performed but if there are other surgeries performed together, then the duration of the  surgery can extend. The surgery will start by the patient being scrubbed with antimicrobial agent to prevent infection, then an intravenous line (IV) will be started to keep track of the patient’s vital signs. The surgery is usually done with local anesthesia, so the face is numbed, and sedative may be given to relax the patient (depending on other surgeries done together, general anesthesia may be given). Incisions will be made inside the mouth and implants are placed and sutured into place. The patient cannot usually feel the stitches because they are higher in the mouth.
