Chin Aesthetics in Turkey

The chin is one of the most important areas that make up the faces of women or men and determine their facial shapes. For this reason, jaw surgeries find their place in the category of surgeries performed for aesthetic reasons. Jaw surgeries can also be performed to eliminate jaw functional disorders encountered in chewing at the same time. In jaw surgeries with different types, which type of patients are suitable for is revealed during doctors’ examinations.

Types of Jaw Aesthetics

Jaw surgery in Turkey, also known by the name of orthognathic surgery, is performed as a result of a series of sequential procedures. The procedures to be applied during the treatment processes or operations in maxillofacial surgery are determined after the examinations performed on the patients. Although a different system can be applied to each patient, the main goal of the operations is to eliminate the adjustment decencies that occur between the lower and upper jaw. Adjustment disorders can disturb patients in terms of shape. In addition, many patients experience chewing and biting problems due to the fact that their lower and upper jaws do not fit together.

The types of jaw surgery also vary according to patients with aesthetic anxiety and serious chewing problems. The problems of patients who have problems with chewing and biting are primarily trying to be eliminated by wire therapy, known as orthodontics. However, in patients whose problems have reached serious dimensions, there is no response to this type of treatment. For this reason, patients whose problems cannot be solved by dentists need to undergo orthognathic surgical operations. In this type of surgical operations, the jaw bones are shifted so that they reach the ideal position they should be in. Plastic surgeons and orthodontists work together during the operation. In this way, it is ensured that patients get the best results in terms of health and aesthetics.

The presence of aesthetic concerns in jaw surgeries leads to the result that surgeries are performed more easily. Because chewing problems are not observed in patients with aesthetic anxiety. This reduces the operations seen with the jawbone to a minimum level in the operations performed. In this type of plastic surgery, which is also called chin tip aesthetics, the tip of the jaw is filed. As a result of the rasping process, it is ensured that the jaw reaches the desired shape. The scope of maxillofacial operations is smaller than that of maxillofacial surgery. Therefore, the recovery processes of patients after jaw tip operations are completed in a short time.

Are There Any Traces Left in Chin Aesthetic Surgeries?

Patients who are going to have jaw aesthetics or individuals who are considering this type of operation are confused about the scars. However, the formation of any marks is not possible during jaw aesthetic operations. Operations can be performed in different ways according to the doctor’s choices. Thanks to the incisions opened through the mouth in plastic surgeries, it can be prevented from leaving any marks on the external appearance. However, not every patient’s oral health may allow this situation. In such cases, doctors perform operations with incisions opened from the jaw part. The probability of the appearance of cuts in the jaw section is also quite low. Moreover, as a result of the developments in medicine, most of the aesthetic operations are now performed without traces.

Jaw surgery is also performed without leaving a trace, as in jaw aesthetic surgeries. All of these operations are performed inside the mouth. Thus, patients do not have to deal with suture marks that are outside the face. However, as a result of long-term procedures, it is possible that the face may swell for a certain period of time after the operation. These situations are seen as one of the natural consequences of the operation.

Before the Jaw Aesthetic Surgery

Jaw surgery is not one of the operations that can be performed instantly. Patients need to undergo certain treatments in order to be able to prepare for operations. Among these treatments, orthodontics is the most important. As a result of orthodontic treatment, wires are attached to the teeth of patients. In this way, the ergonomic structure of the teeth is placed in the position it should be. Thus, it is possible for patients to undergo a maxillofacial surgery operation as a result of the termination of orthodontic treatments.

Before jaw aesthetics, it will be enough for patients to undergo a doctor’s check-up and determine a day. In addition, there are negative effects of blood thinning drugs in surgical operations. Patients should stop using this type of medication at least one week before the operation after consulting their doctors. Although they do not pass as blood thinners in both types of surgery, it should be checked whether medications with blood thinning side effects are taken regularly. From this point of view, it becomes possible to stop bleeding during and after the operation. It is essential that patients transmit complete lists of the medications they are using to their doctors without storing them. Since smoking also negatively affects the healing process, its consumption should be decoupled before and after the operation.

After Jaw Aesthetic Surgery

Jaw surgery and jaw aesthetic surgeries also require a healing process that needs to be paid attention to. In jaw aesthetic surgeries, it is possible for patients to have their operations performed on a daily basis. These patients can spend their healing processes at home. There are bandages that will stay on the patients’ faces for one or two days. In maxillofacial surgery, an overnight hospitalization is performed. Bandages are also used in these patients. The duration of use of bandages may vary according to the doctor’s recommendations and examinations.

There are also common points that should be taken into account during the recovery process of two different jaw operations. the stitches of the operations are generally performed from inside the mouth. For this reason, patients do not need to deal with such a problem as having their stitches removed. On average, stitches that melt spontaneously within two months do not cause any harm to the health of patients. Also, during recovery, the position of the head should be paid close attention for the first week. The upright possession of the face, which collects edema due to operations, greatly shortens the healing process. Care should also be taken to keep the head upright during sleep. It is recommended that patients use more than one pillow for these procedures.

The fact that operations consist of intraoral stitches makes it necessary for patients to show meticulousness about hygiene. For this reason, oral hygiene should be ensured according to the doctor’s recommendations. Because if the necessary care is not performed, infections, which are one of the undesirable consequences during the healing process, can be seen. However, the risk of infection has decreased to the minimum dimensions for patients who pay attention to cleanliness.

After the operation, feeding routines should also be kept different for the first three days or a week. Patients have to be fed with liquid foods due to the sensitivity that occurs in the mouth during this process. In the ongoing process, the intake of nutrients can be continued with soft foods. However, during fluid consumption, patients should pay attention to the nutritional values of the nutrients they have taken. It is necessary to strictly follow the doctor’s recommendations given in relation to nutritional values or nutrients that should be taken. Otherwise, because there will be a decrease in the body’s resistance level, there may be disruptions in the healing process or problems that are undesirable to occur. After a week, patients who switch to soft foods can completely return to their old routines in nutrition after the intervening three or four days.
